The Indigenous Project Foundation bridges the digital divide and builds pathways from healing to employment for Indigenous communities across Canada.
The Indigenous Project Foundation is a registered Alberta nonprofit society serving First Nations communities across Canada. We fund and deliver programs that address the interconnected challenges of digital access, education, mental health, and economic development.
Our model is unique: we build self-sustaining programs where each initiative generates resources that fuel the next, creating a cycle of community empowerment that reduces dependency on external funding.
First Nations control their own digital infrastructure, data, and technology. We build capacity, not dependency.
Healing and wellness come before skills training. We address the whole person — mind, body, spirit, and community.
Every program is designed to generate revenue that funds future programming — reducing long-term grant dependency.
Our board, our staff, and our delivery partners are Indigenous. Nothing about us without us.
Each program addresses a critical need and connects to the others — creating a complete pipeline from digital access to sustainable employment.
We raise funds to build computer labs with hardware, software, and internet infrastructure in isolated First Nations communities. Nations sign partnership agreements to use the labs for member training. Labs connect users with online safety certification, creating a self-sustaining revenue model that funds future labs.
The future is AI — and Indigenous communities deserve to lead. Our incubator teaches First Nations members how to build and run their own AI-powered online businesses. Students learn practical AI skills, business development, and digital entrepreneurship, graduating ready to launch their own ventures.
Mental health and wellness are the foundation for everything else. Our GO (Greater Opportunities) Wellness program provides culturally safe mental health support, grief and trauma counselling, Elder-led healing, and holistic wellness services. Healing comes before training — this program ensures community members are ready to thrive.
Our flagship workforce program combines life skills, safety certification, and job placement into a holistic model. Over 500 people trained with an 85% employment success rate. Covers 23 safety courses certified by CCPC Global and FNWACCB. Participants graduate ready for oil sands and industrial careers.
IPF is the community development arm of an integrated Indigenous nation-building ecosystem. Each organization plays a specific role — and IPF connects them to First Nations communities through funded programs.
Raises funds, develops programs, and connects First Nations with the services they need. The grant-eligible hub of the ecosystem.
Our board brings together lived experience, cultural knowledge, entrepreneurship, and youth voice to guide IPF's mission.
